TNF receptor associated factors (TRAFs) are a family composed of 6 members (TRAF1 to TRAF6) and are the main adaptor proteins for the TNF receptors upon binding with their respective ligands. Activation of TRAFs triggers subsequent activation of major downstream signalling pathways such as JNK - p38 and NF-κB.
