| Several alternatives exist concerning the type of immunogen to use : |

- Soluble Proteins
- In solution
- lyophilized
- in a polyacrylamide based gel

Protein can be sent in solution, lyophilised or in polyacrylamide gel silices. When supplying the protein in polyacrylamide gel silices the standard Coomassie staining procedure can be used. The bands should be washed and then placed wet into Eppendorf tubes.
The antigen tubes can be shipped at room temperature. Antigen in solution and lyophilised antigen should be sent with ice packs or dry ice. Please limit aggressive buffer conditions such as acetic aciid, urea (<6M) and guanidine hydrochloride.

Quantity of immunogen required per animal - for 4 injections:
|
- rabbit : 300µg per animal
- chicken : 300 µg per animal
- rat/guinea-pig : 300 µg per animal
|
The client reserves the right to modify the quantity injected. Under such circumstances Covalab does not take responsibility for the non immunogenic effect or toxicity caused to the animal. We remind you that repeated injected of important quantity of antigen can be mortal for the animal. |

Covalab enables you to select the rabbits best suited for your work, by sending you pre-immune bleedings of animals. Only supplementary sampling will be billed.
Example : if two rabbits to be immunized are ordered, 5 bleeding will be sent to you, but only 3 will be billed !

- ELISA Anti-protein - Included in Package
|
The control of antibody production can be performed by ELISA test for each bleed. These tests enable the follow up of immunoreactivity of specific immunoglobulin to the antigen (protein) which have previously been absorbed to microtitration plates. |

This service consists in purifying a minimum of 5 ml of your serum on a proetin A or G column.After this, an ELISA test will be made to determine the titer of the purified antibodies

- Purification of IgY from Egg yolks:

This service consists in purifying IgY from egg yolks by selective precipitation, followed by ion-exchange chromatography and finally a purity control by SDS PAGE.
