Antibody Purification
A wide variety of methods are used to purify antibodies. The correct choice of purification method depends on the class/subclass of the antibody, the species in which it was raised and the intended use of the antibodies. Antibodies from tissue culture supernatant, serum or ascites can be purified using one or more of the following methods offered by Covalab:
| Antibody immunopurification on affinity column | Antibody purification on protein A or G column | Antibody purification on Ion Exchange column | IgY purification from egg yolks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Procedure Peptide immobilisation on agarose beads Loading of the antiserum on the affinity column and elution of bound antibodies |
Procedure Loading of the antiserum on a protein A or G column and elution of bound antibodies |
Procedure Loading of the antiserum on a ion exchange colum (deae-column) and elution of bound antibodies |
Procedure Preparation of the egg yolk extract by two-step precipitation. Loading of the egg yolk extract on th ion exchang column and elution of bound antibodies |
